The Eastern Shore of Virginia was first explored by Captain John Smith upon arrival in the “New World” back in 1607.  
The recorded history here is as old as any in North America.  On this site you will find links to Eastern Shore historical
web sites as well as stories, photos, and other historical data.  This site is new as of July 2010, and we are feeling our way
